Give your sails a proper winter MOT

Small problems have a habit of becoming expensive ones. A loose stitch, worn webbing, damaged UV strip or chafed corner can quickly turn into a much bigger repair if it's left until spring.

One of the biggest mistakes you can make is putting sails and covers away damp.

Salt, moisture and dirt create the perfect environment for mould and mildew, particularly when sails are stored somewhere dark with little ventilation over the winter.

A good wash and thorough drying before storage can make a huge difference to the condition and lifespan of your sails.
